About the role ….

  • Conduct financial and compliance audits for a range of clients in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards (or relevant local standards).
  • Assist in planning audit engagements, including risk assessments and scoping.
  • Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures.
  • Prepare audit work papers and documentation to support audit conclusions.
  • Identify internal control weaknesses and make practical recommendations.
  • Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial data and clarify audit findings.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit reports and management letters.
  • Support and review work prepared by junior auditors, as required.
  • Ensure audit procedures are completed within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Keep up to date with changes in accounting and auditing standards.
  • Attend some client meetings.
  • Follow up to clients with queries.
  • Other tasks as directed.

About you ….

We are looking for an A-star individual, passionate and competent with what they do and bringing the WOW with the following qualifications:

  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Business Administration or relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field (ideally).
  • Progressing toward (or completion of) CA or CPA qualification.
  • 2–4 years of external audit experience, ideally in a professional services firm.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g. AASB, IFRS) and legislation (e.g. Corporations Act 2001).
  • Experience using audit software such as CaseWare, MYOB, MyWorkpapers, or similar is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Professionalism, integrity, and ethical judgment.
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Organized and able to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to undertake ad hoc tasks.
  • Desirable (preferred but not required):
    • Exposure to a variety of industries including companies and not-for-profit clients.
    • Experience supervising junior staff.
    • Understanding of audit quality and risk management frameworks
